JASPER is a name given to one of the largest group of stones. They occur in many different colors due to different balances of minerals combined with microcrystalline quartz. They are often slightly dappled in appearance because of the tiny quartz crystals inside their structure, and show an astonishing variation of specks and stripes, depending on the particular combination of minerals mixed with their basic structure of silicon dioxide.
